The purpose of the Outreach Committee is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His transforming power...

The role of Outreach is often considered to be simply reaching out to people who don't go to church and bringing them in.  But our vision of Evangelism involves not only those beyond our church family, but also visitors, constituents, and even current members of Faith UMC, at whatever point they are in their spiritual journey, to help them move along in it at their own pace.

Outreach includes letting the community know we're here and extending an open invitation to join uis for Worship services and other special Faith UMC events and activities.  The Worship services and all outgoing events and activities can give people a positive place to spend time and be able to manifest the priorities that are critical to happy, successful lives, and family values for themselves as well as their children.  We invite people to give us a try.

Welcoming and Hospitality includes providing fellowship opportunities so that people in our church family can get to know each other better, develop friendships, and feel comfortable enough to be able to share their faith, and hopes and dreams and fears; to be able to ask the hard questions about faith, or the easy ones; to be abler to share some experiences about how Christ has make a difference in their lives.

Membership includes making contact with those who have come here to visit, and maintaining contact with those who have attended regularly and with those who are members so that Faith UMC can make sure it knows what its people need and to try to provide a way to meet those need.

Discipleship includes programs, classes, mentors, and other training and support to help people from where they are to where they want to go in their spiritual growth and faith journey.  We coordinate with other ongoing church activities including the Pastors' messages, and the Christian Education programs and classes.  We also work with other church committee events and activities when that coordination and cooperation is appropriate

On-going Evangelism Committee activities include:

  • Visitor welcoming

  • .Christmas caroling for shut-ins

  • Maintaining the membership roster

  • Seeking innovative ways to get The Word out to both our local congregation and to the community.

  • Produce the church photo directory (every 2 - 3 years)
